Famine Camp

yes! i've made it. 30 hours without food. =). and i'm proud to say that i am one of the 2.1 million people around the world to participate in this year's Famine Camp. the camp is darn cool. though its only 2 days, i actually gain alot. from the the post-disaster simulation to the concert.

after the registration, they gave us an identity card. and it states that my name is Dalatain Micmac. married with 10 kids and i'm healthy. hah. that was my identity during the camp. how cool can that be.

they made us feel how it is like to be those affected by natural disasters. they made 3 scenarios (3 days) for us. during the first day, we had to reunite with our family. "dad" had to find the kids and me. and the best part is we are scattered at the different "evacuation centre" and "hospital"- for those who have HIV and those injured. hah.

second day, we had to work as a family in order to gain money (ice cream sticks). there's different ways for us to get money and get the things to build our house. of course there's the good and bad ways. sort out a huge pack of green beans from red beans for $5 (good), pick 20 tiny beads of the same colour from the field and string them for $5 (good), prostitution 5mins for $12, sell each kid for $20, get reliefs from the relief centre. and to get the things to build our house, we can either get from the government or simply buy it from the black market. hah.

just to let euu all know, prostitution & the black market is the hot favourite. even though this is just a simulation, it shows that people can really do anything when they are really desperate.

third day was just about building a house. and have $65 in hand.

for the second real day, we were allowed to choose whether we wanna go for christian worship or kick boxing. hah. for me, i don't have any choice. so i went for kick boxing. two people from Amore came down for the session. yay. now, i can kick box. =) after that, we went for a door-to-door collection drive at Tampines. my group covered 5 blocks. block 830 to 834. thank you people for your kind generosity.

and before we break our fast, we had 1 hour concert. there's breakdance, some videos that really touched my heart, performances by Jolin Tsai ( i think ), bands-Tickva and Ronin. uber fantabulous i tell euu.

oh. did i tell euu that Lay Queen was in the camp too. yeah. & Ronin made me fall in love with black maria. =)

i really respect the victims of natural disasters and those less privileged. i'll always pray for you guys. i really think that even a simple prayer for them is good enough. =)

btw, i don't think i've lost any weight. hah.

alrights. night.

i pen my thoughts @12:00 AM
